As Jan. 5 deadline approaches, most haven’t paid county property taxes yet
Property tax notices for an estimated $34.8 million were sent out and due in September, but don’t become delinquent until Jan. 5, 2010. Many residents are waiting closer to the delinquent deadline to pay taxes this year.

Canton Middle School students and staff honored veterans on Monday, while dedicating their new flagpole.
The school had one flagpole for years and it was in poor condition, said Canton Middle School Principal Greg Bailey.
